A neighborhood in Milwaukee
Burnham Park is a south-side Milwaukee neighborhood bounded by Greenfield to the north, Beecher to the south, 27th Street to the east, and West Milwaukee to the west. Its one dedicated music venue carries serious weight. Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall is the rebirth of what was once Art Altenburg's Concertina Bar, with current owner Andy Kochanski breathing new life into the space. Formerly Art's Concertina Bar, the hall continues Art's tradition by offering Polish and German beers on tap alongside live polka, rockabilly, blues, and more. There's a stage just inside the door and a stage in the back of the bar, with two bands alternately playing and essentially no break in the music all night. Sunday matinee shows are also a regular feature. The outdoor beer garden adds fire pits, yard games, and live music every Wednesday night. A polka open jam runs during the week, with polka and concertina bands appearing a few times a month. Kochanski's is the dominant reason to seek out live music in Burnham Park.
