Goodlettsville sits about 12 miles north of Nashville on I-65, and its live-music footprint reflects that proximity: a small city with city-run outdoor programming rather than a dense bar-and-venue district. The main music draw is the Music on Main Summer Concert Series, held on the grounds of City Hall. Shows take place on select Thursday nights in June, July, and August. The venue, Main Street Park, is located at 105 South Main Street. There are no fixed seats, so attendees bring lawn chairs or blankets. Past acts have included Nashville-circuit performers: the country duo Erickson and Young, who have played Broadway and 2nd Avenue venues including Tootsies, Rippy's, and the Wild Horse Saloon. The city also runs Music at the Market at the Goodlettsville Farmer's Market in May and September, and Pickin' on the Porch on the Bowen Plantation House porch. Live music here is largely a seasonal, community-organized affair rather than a year-round club scene.
