Music Valley
A neighborhood in Nashville
Music Valley sits about ten miles east of downtown Nashville and has long oriented its live-music identity around classic country. Home to the Grand Ole Opry and Nashville Palace, the neighborhood carries on the tradition of classic country entertainment. The Nashville Palace has been open since 1977 and has served as a launching pad for some of country music's biggest names. Randy Travis once worked there as a dishwasher and part-time performer before the venue gave him his first real break. Today it runs live music any night of the week across two stages, with the front bar reserved for regular acts. It is a haven for traditional country, honky-tonk, and western dance, with a spacious wooden dance floor and a reputation as the best dancing bar in Tennessee. Texas Troubadour Theatre is a historic spot for live radio and music shows, as well as a nondenominational Sunday morning service. The venue has hosted productions including a Music of Nashville concert series and a recurring Elvis tribute show, known locally for its Nashville King show and Monday and Thursday night Elvis tributes.
