Oak Grove sits just off Interstate 24 on the boundary of Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee, right across from Fort Campbell Army Post and a quick drive from Nashville. Its live-music scene runs almost entirely through one address: Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, owned and operated by Churchill Downs. The property runs music across three formats. The Moonshine Amphitheater books country acts to R&B artists and is set in the infield of the harness horse racing track, with over 840 permanent seats plus standing room. The Grandstand, home to the live harness racing, also hosts regional acts and comedy shows. The Sports Bar Stage brings in regional bands live, free of charge, every Friday and Saturday night from 10pm to 1am. The amphitheater's ticketed calendar has included rock, country, and R&B nights. For a small city, the venue offers an unusually wide range of live-music options under one roof.
