Moon Township
Moon Township sits about 12 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, and its live-music presence is anchored almost entirely by one address. The UPMC Events Center is a 4,000-seat indoor arena on the campus of Robert Morris University, opened in May 2019 and operated by Oak View Group. Evanescence headlined its first-ever concert at the venue. Since then, it has welcomed a wide range of genres, with past acts including Spiritbox, Loathe, and Gel alongside country and pop performers like Dylan Scott and Josh Ross. Bob Dylan, Pierce the Veil, Motionless in White, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Knocked Loose, and local favorites Donnie Iris and The Clarks have also played the room. Beyond concerts, the arena doubles as a multi-purpose facility hosting meetings, conferences, and RMU Colonials basketball and volleyball. For smaller live music, the township has little dedicated infrastructure; residents typically look to Pittsburgh proper for bar and club shows.
