West Dubuque

West Dubuque's live-music options range from casual brewpub sets to outdoor summer concerts and fairground mainstage shows. 7 Hills Brewing, housed in a century-old former lumber warehouse in the Historic Millwork District, features an entertainment stage in its brewpub. The venue regularly hosts live music, including talent from local colleges. Packard Pavilion Amphitheater, built in 1991 at the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, launched the free Sunday "Music in the Gardens" concert series that same year. The Arboretum has kept that series running every summer since. Recent acts have included tribute bands covering Heart, Pat Benatar, Motown, and Southern rock. The Dubuque County Fairgrounds & Event Center includes a Concert Mainstage, Grand Ballroom, and Dubuque Speedway Racetrack. The fairgrounds have welcomed acts such as Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Theory of a Deadman, and Skillet, and also host boot scooting nights alongside the annual county fair concerts.
