Granite City's bar-and-grill circuit is the backbone of its live-music scene, with neighborhood pubs doing the heavy lifting on weekends. Jacobsmeyer's Tavern, operating out of a historic Granite City saloon, offers live music alongside its beer garden and has roots going back to 1933, though its full kitchen operation opened in 2011. A true neighborhood bar and grill on a corner lot in a working-class residential area, it draws a cross-section of regulars. Downtown Pub Bar & Grill, also on E 20th St, offers pool tables and both indoor and outdoor seating, with music a regular part of the atmosphere. Tegan's Pub House rounds out the trio. The city also runs a Civic Park Summer Concert Series every Wednesday from May through October, featuring local talent performing outdoors.
