Hmong New Year Concert

Welch is an unincorporated community in Goodhue County, about 36 miles southeast of St. Paul, making it a genuine day-trip destination rather than a neighborhood music stop. Its one significant live-music draw is large-scale. The Treasure Island Amphitheater is a 16,000-seat outdoor venue that has operated since 2017 as a summer destination for live music, located about 40 miles from Minneapolis-St. Paul. Each summer the amphitheater runs a concert series spanning rock, country, and other genres, typically from July through September. Past bookings have included national acts across both genres. The resort also operates a 2,800-seat indoor event center that brings in a range of performers year-round. The resort is owned and operated by the Prairie Island Indian Community. For most Twin Cities concertgoers, Treasure Island is a destination show rather than a casual night out, best suited to fans willing to make the drive for a big-name act under the open sky.
