Aurora
Aurora's live-music scene is anchored by two large downtown venues managed by the Aurora Civic Center Authority. RiverEdge Park is built around the John C. Dunham performance pavilion and, after recent renovations, holds up to 7,500 people along the Fox River. The outdoor amphitheater runs a yearly Downtown Alive concert series and hosts the annual Blues on the Fox festival. Recent bookings have included Cheap Trick, The Beach Boys, and Trombone Shorty. A few blocks away, the Art Deco-Venetian Paramount Theatre was originally a movie house before being renovated to accommodate stage productions and concerts. It draws an annual audience of roughly 350,000 patrons with programming spanning music, Broadway-caliber theatre, dance, and comedy. For smaller shows, The Venue Aurora is a nonprofit performance space run by the Fox Valley Music Foundation, with a flex-space listening room configurable for reserved tables or general admission. It books nationally recognized acts across blues, big band, rock, and world music, with regional and local artists frequently filling the opening slots. Aurora Tap House and Black Door Pub round out the bar-level options, and Two Brothers Roundhouse adds a brewery setting with occasional music.
