Chinatown

Chicago's Chinatown, centered on Wentworth Avenue in the Armour Square neighborhood, is not a live-music destination in the conventional sense. Its one notable music-adjacent spot is King KTV, a luxury karaoke lounge on the second floor of Chinatown Square, with 12 private karaoke rooms and a cocktail bar. Volume controls let guests dial in their own mic-to-backing-track ratio, and the system includes YouTube access so nearly any song is on the table. A newer "Throne Room" fits up to 30 people and wraps them in 360-degree LED lighting. Beyond King KTV, the neighborhood's biggest music moment comes once a year: the annual Chinatown Summer Fair, drawing more than 40,000 people to Wentworth Avenue, includes live music alongside cultural performances and food. Those looking for ticketed live-music shows will need to travel outside the neighborhood.
