Hammond

A city in the Chicago area

The PAV (Pavilion at Wolf Lake) is an outdoor concert venue on the shoreline of Wolf Lake, about 20 minutes from Chicago. Owned and operated by the Hammond Port Authority, its tower design was inspired by an 1895 Frank Lloyd Wright concept for the site. The PAV runs a free Summer Concert Series that leans on tribute acts spanning rock, classic pop, and Latin music. The annual Festival of the Lakes also uses The PAV as its main stage. The Venue at Horseshoe Casino draws ticketed national acts on a regular basis, making it Hammond's primary indoor room for touring artists. Byway Brewing Company is a family-friendly microbrewery in Hammond with a spacious industrial-style taproom and a rotating lineup of live entertainment and special events. The summer patio is set up to hear bands perform. Flat Rock Tap, open since 2006, features live music on Thursdays and open mic on Tuesdays. The Thursday open mic on Calumet Avenue draws local acoustic musicians who sit in alongside the host.
