A neighborhood in Chicago
Little Italy is a restaurant-first neighborhood where live music plays a supporting role. The area is primarily known for its restaurants rather than its nightlife scene, and dedicated music venues are sparse along Taylor Street. The annual Festa Italiana, typically held in August, transforms Taylor Street into a street festival complete with food vendors and live music. The one consistent spot for live music is Taylor Street Tap. Located at 1358 W Taylor St, it is a neighborhood dive bar offering live music with no cover charge. Co-owned by Brian Fadden and Dylan MacWilliams, the bar books live music with a focus on blues acts. When live music isn't scheduled, a vintage record player behind the bar spins vinyl. Monday nights bring a comedy open mic, and the bar's family-owned setup has made it a local favorite for its unpretentious character.
