A suburb in the Chicago area
Tinley Park punches well above its suburban weight for live music. The anchor is Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre, Illinois' premier outdoor amphitheatre, which opened in 1990 with Cher and books rock, country, R&B, pop, classical, and more. Closer to street level, Banging Gavel Brews occupies the historic Vogt House, a building dating to 1865 on the National Register of Historic Places, operating as a gastropub and brewpub with cover bands every weekend. Cuzin's Tavern runs a Blues Jam and Open Mic every Sunday at 4pm, plus cover bands on Saturday nights. North & Maple Kitchen + Bar hosts live jazz on Wednesdays and cover bands Thursday through Sunday. Bailey's, an Irish bar, schedules regular live music alongside sports-bar events, and Hailstorm Brewing Co. holds regular live music nights. Hillgrove Tap, J.W. Hollstein's Saloon, Soundgrowler Brewing Co., and the Tinley Park Convention Center round out the roster as active music spots.
