Northside
Northside packs more live-music options per block than almost any Cincinnati neighborhood, and many musicians live here because of the affordable rent and access to venues. The anchor is Northside Tavern, a Cincinnati staple with free, original live music almost every night, local craft brews on tap, and a year-round outdoor patio. Shows run any night of the week in either room, with the front bar reserved for acoustic acts. A few blocks away, Urban Artifact is a brewery dedicated to fruit tart ales, operating in the historic St. Patrick's Church in Northside. In the church basement, Radio Artifact's soundstage hosts live shows alongside the draft beer. Radio Artifact also functions as a recording studio, record label, and radio station. The Comet doubles as a restaurant and intimate music venue, known informally as "Northside's living room." The Loon focuses on natural wines. The neighborhood also anchors two recurring festivals: the Northside Rock and Roll Carnival and the North by Northside Music Festival. North by Northside is a multi-venue takeover spread across the neighborhood each May.
