Eastmoor
Eastmoor is a quiet, residential neighborhood on Columbus's east side, with East Main Street serving as one of its main commercial corridors . Its live-music identity runs almost entirely through two spots on that strip, and they cover very different ground. Blu on Main, at 2882 E. Main St., is the original location of the Blu jazz cafe operation, open Wednesday through Saturday with doors at 6 p.m., and carries a neighborhood jazz-cafe energy that's warm and built for live-music nights. Cover charges run $5 on Wednesdays and $10 on Thursdays for live jazz sets. A few doors down, The Top Steak House has been a Columbus institution since 1955, offering a classic supper-club experience with live piano music, charbroiled steaks, and seafood. Music runs every night, with a rotating cast of pianists including Dave Powers, Pete Skradey, and Sonia Modes. House pianist Sonia Modes has played almost nightly since 1965, making her one of the longest-running live-music fixtures in the city.
