A neighborhood in Detroit
Detroit's Theater District anchors one of the city's most storied live-entertainment corridors along Woodward Avenue. The Fox Theatre, opened in 1928 as a flagship movie palace and the largest of the original Fox Theatres, draws the district's biggest crowds. Named a National Historic Landmark in 1989 after its full restoration in 1988, it seats around 5,048. The Fox hosts major touring acts alongside Broadway musicals, interactive stage shows, and holiday productions. Its 2026 concert calendar runs from pop and R&B to rock and jazz, with recent bookings including Ella Mai, Rick Ross, and The R&B Lovers Tour featuring Keith Sweat, Joe, Dru Hill, and Ginuwine. For late-night music, the Annex Nightclub operates a few blocks away. The 10,000-square-foot club caters to world-class DJs and private events, with industry-leading light and sound production. It draws on Detroit's electronic music legacy, programming hip-hop, house, and R&B alongside high-octane DJ sets. Together, the two venues cover opposite ends of the live-music spectrum, from arena-scale concerts to club-floor DJ nights.
