Eastown
Eastown is sometimes called the "Greenwich Village of Grand Rapids," and its live-music options reflect that independent streak. All three venues sit within walking distance of each other along or just off Wealthy Street SE. Billy's Lounge is deeply rooted in the blues, though performances from all genres can be heard on any given night. The Eastown institution books everything from hip-hop to blues to rock to soul to DJs to reggae. It is also a regular home for the West Michigan Blues Society, which hosts nationally renowned blues acts alongside local favorites. Capacity is around 250. Mulligan's Pub contains The Otherside, a room with a long history in Eastown that was originally home to the stage for The Intersection before that venue moved downtown. Today it hosts some of Grand Rapids' best local talent as well as touring acts. Admission is free for all 21+ on Thursday through Saturday nights. Harmony Brewing Company has been making beers and pizzas since 2012. The brewery holds a weekly vinyl night on Thursdays at 7 pm and brings in live music alongside its small-batch tap list and wood-fired pizza menu.
