Fulton Heights

Fulton Heights sits between Heritage Hill and East Grand Rapids and is mostly residential, but its two institutional venues give the neighborhood a real foothold in Grand Rapids' concert calendar. Aquinas College's campus hosts public showings of music, theatre, and visual arts throughout the year. The Music Department runs concerts and events across the school year, all free and open to the public. Programming ranges from choral concerts and faculty recitals in the Kretschmer Recital Hall to jazz band performances in the same space. Larger productions move to the 418-seat Performing Arts Center, which holds concerts and other special events year-round. The AQ Summer Jazz Camp has also drawn West Michigan students for nearly 40 years. Down Fulton Street, Trinity Lutheran Church runs its own Concert Series and serves as a rehearsal home for the Schubert Male Chorus, which performs concerts throughout West Michigan. The programming here leans toward choral and sacred music.
