Windsor Park
A neighborhood in Indianapolis
Windsor Park is one of Indianapolis's first streetcar suburbs, a Near Eastside neighborhood bounded by East 10th Street, Jefferson, Brookside/Commerce, and Massachusetts Avenue. Its lone dedicated music-and-arts venue keeps the neighborhood on the live-music map. Kan-Kan Cinema & Bar, at 1258 Windsor St., is Indianapolis's only locally grown, independent, not-for-profit arthouse cinema and bar. Operated by Indianapolis Film Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it features three theaters with a total of 225 seats, all equipped with stadium-style seating and Dolby Digital sound. Live music is concentrated in the bar lounge, where the calendar has included local singer-songwriters and jazz performers. Film events and special screenings regularly share the schedule alongside those music nights, making Kan-Kan a hybrid rather than a straight concert venue. It serves as a neighborhood gathering place for film lovers, food lovers, and community seekers alike.
