North Kansas City
North Kansas City punches well above its size for live music, with seven venues spread across a compact, walkable stretch just north of the Missouri River. The area's best-known room is The Rino on Armour Road, a "loosely dinosaur-themed" favorite of music lovers all over town. Capacity runs to about 150, with live music and comedy both on the calendar. Music open mic nights fill Mondays and Tuesdays, with sign-ups at 6:30 and music at 7. The brewery corridor adds two more reliable music stops: Cinder Block Brewery runs a main taproom, event space, and large outdoor patio, with live music on weekends, while Callsign Brewing is a patriotic spot honoring veterans and first responders that puts local artists on stage every Friday from 7 to 9 PM. F325 BBQ and Sail Away Wine round out the neighborhood's smaller live-music options. On the larger end, the VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Kansas City is recognized as one of the KC area's notable clubs.
