North Knoxville
North Knoxville's live-music spots lean toward neighborhood bars and brewery taprooms rather than large concert halls. Corner Lounge, a bar on N. Central Street in the Happy Holler area, has been a Knoxville fixture since the 1930s, with a restored original bar and tin-tile ceiling, and is known for live music from local artists. It hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights, with sets spanning country, bluegrass, and rock, along with periodic karaoke nights. Schulz Bräu Brewing Company brings a different feel: it offers a German Biergarten experience in a castle-like building, with an outdoor stage used for live music. The brewery books local bands most weekends throughout the year, and its annual Oktoberfest runs three weeks and features German brews, Bavarian food, and live music in the castle and Biergarten. Yee-Haw Brewing rounds out the neighborhood with a pub setting that pairs local beers with live music; WDVX's free Summer Nights Concert Series, running April through October, is hosted at Yee-Haw in North Knoxville.
