South Knoxville
South Knoxville's Sevier Avenue corridor is home to two live-music spots with very different scales. Alliance Brewing Co. has been serving craft beer on Sevier Ave since 2015 and doubles as a community music space. Alliance Brewing hosts a Wednesday open-mic night, making it a regular stop for local musicians and regulars alike. At the other end of the avenue, The 808, at 808 Sevier Ave in the Old Sevier District, has a capacity of roughly 500 and a mix of all-ages and 18-and-up shows. Its talent buyer has described the booking range as running from local metal bands to international touring DJs, country, jazz, and blues. Organizers noted that Knoxville had been without a 400-to-500-capacity venue for several years, and The 808 is positioned to fill that gap for both local acts and national tours landing in South Knoxville.
