Northeast Lincoln

Northeast Lincoln's Sandhills Global Event Center, a public nonprofit fairgrounds complex at 4100 N 84th St., owned by the Lancaster County Agricultural Society, anchors the area's largest music moments. Its calendar runs from rodeos and ag expos to concerts and community gatherings, and the annual Lancaster County Super Fair brings free live music to the grandstand and beer garden all 10 nights of the fair. A few miles northwest, Prairie Pines Nature Preserve is a 145-acre property containing an arboretum, woodland, grassland, and a 10-acre remnant tall grass prairie. Its music programming is seasonal and fits the setting: the Meadowlark Music Festival takes place there each July, and award-winning arranger David von Kampen has brought jazz choirs to perform at the preserve as part of that festival. Together, the two venues give northeast Lincoln a range that spans large-scale fairground events and quiet outdoor concerts among the trees.
