A neighborhood in Madison
Bernell's, a sports bar and grill on the east side, is Madison's first venue where women's athletics are centered and celebrated. Owner Rita Adair also honors the building's past as a hub for live blues and jazz: the space was formerly the Red Rooster, and when she reopened it as Bernell's in November 2025, she kept the stage and continued booking live music. The bar runs live blues on Thursdays and Saturdays. Club LaMark, on N. Stoughton Road, is a neighborhood bar that hosts live music alongside its identity as "NASCAR is the genius loci here", a place where racing and karaoke also draw regulars. The Far East Side's other venues, Kiki's House of Righteous Music, Lazy Oaf Lounge, Pooley's, and Ritmo2, round out a corridor of six music spots in this part of the city, though specific booking details for those four could not be confirmed from available sources.
