Beale Street

Tennessee's most visited attraction, Beale Street runs on blues, jazz, rock 'n' roll, R&B, soul, and gospel, with 365 days and nights of live music across clubs, outdoor spaces, and a full-scale arena. B.B. King's Blues Club opened during the 1991 Beale Street Blues Festival and became a cornerstone of Memphis nightlife. It offers live entertainment every night of the week, from authentic blues to classic soul and rock and roll. Next door in spirit, Blues City Cafe's attached Band Box hosts live blues and other music nightly. Rum Boogie Cafe is one of the main venues for the International Blues Challenge and was named Blues Club of the Year by the Blues Foundation in 2007. The New Daisy Theatre opened as a movie house in 1937 and was converted to a music venue in the 1980s, and today hosts the Beale Street Live concert series. Tin Roof is a bar and restaurant featuring a stage for live music and DJs, patios, and multiple bars. Weekend nights feature bands from Tennessee and beyond, while weeknights bring a mix of local, regional, and national acts in full-band and acoustic sets. Handy Park provides an outdoor stage for concerts along the strip, and FedExForum anchors the district's large-venue end for arena-scale shows.
