Shorewood

A city in the Milwaukee area

Shorewood's live-music life centers on Hubbard Park and its WPA-era Lodge on the Milwaukee River rather than a cluster of traditional music bars. Hubbard Park Lodge is a 1930s WPA-built log cabin that runs an all-you-can-eat fish fry with live polka music every Friday night. The Friday Night Fish Fry runs year-round from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with polka kicking off at 5:00 PM inside the cathedral-ceilinged lodge. The Lodge also anchors Shorewood's broader summer concert calendar. The village runs a free outdoor Summer Sounds concert series on Wednesday evenings at Hubbard Park along the Milwaukee River, with food and beverages available from Hubbard Park Lodge. Recent Summer Sounds lineups have included Chicago-style blues, jazz-leaning pop, horn-driven funk and soul, East African-inspired indie rock, and classic country acts. The series is produced by the Village of Shorewood and presented by Hubbard Park Lodge. For a Milwaukee-area village, live music here is deliberately public and park-focused, with the Lodge serving as both the physical and institutional hub.
