Whitefish Bay is a quiet, largely residential suburb just north of Milwaukee, and its live-music life centers on one anchor: The Argo. The Argo is housed in the restored Fox Bay Theater, an art deco building that underwent an extensive renovation before opening in December 2025. It features a 700-capacity music venue, a lounge open during the week with no ticket required, and a flexible ballroom for public events and private rentals. The venue was built by a team of music industry insiders who wanted a midsize space to book local and regional talent, filling a gap in the Milwaukee market where most venues run either 900 and above or 300 and below in capacity. Programming spans holiday film screenings, tribute acts, and both local and nationally touring concerts, with Milwaukee acts like Field Report, bluegrass, and punk all part of the opening slate. The bar and kitchen is curated by chef Dan Jacobs, a James Beard semi-finalist, Top Chef contestant, and owner of EsterEv and DanDan. A dollar from every ticket goes toward music industry well-being programs in mental health, sustainability, and longevity.
