Belle Meade

A city in the Nashville area

Belle Meade is a quiet, low-noise city whose live-music life centers almost entirely on one address: Cheekwood Estate & Gardens, eight miles southwest of downtown Nashville. The 1930s estate, with its 30,000-square-foot mansion and 55 acres of cultivated gardens, serves the public as a botanical garden, arboretum, and art museum, and music is woven into that setting year-round. Each year Cheekwood presents over 100 special musical performances and concerts featuring the region's finest players, writers, and singers. The main recurring formats include Thursday Night Out, a weekly summer concert series on the Arboretum Lawn pairing a diverse music lineup with food trucks and Perenn at Cheekwood, and the Under the Stars Concert Series, where performers play in the gardens with Jazz, Bluegrass, and Songwriters nights on the bill. A partnership with Grimey's New & Preloved Music brings curated local and regional acts for Grimey's in the Garden events. The Nashville Opera has also performed as an outdoor evening show in the gardens. Cheekwood is the area's entire live-music story.
