The Nations

A neighborhood in Nashville

The Nations grew out of a former industrial corridor off 51st Avenue, and its converted warehouses and mills now house craft breweries, bars, and eateries. Live music turns up at smaller local venues along 51st Avenue, Charlotte Avenue, and nearby corridors, a low-key counterpoint to the tourist-heavy honky-tonk strip downtown. Fat Bottom Brewing Co. runs acoustic sets on Sippin' Sundays and puts full bands on the taproom stage Friday nights. Every Saturday from 3PM, the beer garden hosts a rotating lineup of local musicians and DJs. Tuesdays add another live-music window from 4–7PM. The family-friendly beer garden and outdoor patio make it one of the more laid-back spots for outdoor music in West Nashville. Streetcar Taps and Garden, voted "Best New Restaurant of 2023," is a gastropub and beer garden on Charlotte Avenue operating out of a restored turn-of-the-century building that once held West Nashville's first grocery store. The venue mixes live music performances into its calendar alongside trivia nights and seasonal festivals.
