Music Row

A neighborhood in Nashville

Music Row is centered on 16th and 17th Avenues South, known as Music Square East and West, and sits apart from the bright lights of Broadway as the quieter business core of Nashville's music industry, where studios, publishing houses, and offices run the show behind unassuming storefronts. It is not a strip where live music plays constantly, but the three venues listed here each bring their own format to the neighborhood. Commons Club serves as the social hub of Virgin Hotels Nashville at 1 Music Square West, and its calendar runs from happy hours and songwriter events to DJs and drag brunches. The David Williford Group holds a standing Saturday set from noon to 3 p.m., and singer-songwriter Onoleigh performs a regular Friday set of original material. The Well Coffeehouse occupies the historic Koinonia Bookstore site at the corner of 16th Avenue South and Grand Avenue, a location known as the birthplace of Contemporary Christian Music in Nashville, and has been revitalized as a coffeehouse and live-music venue. Its events calendar includes concerts and songwriter rounds.
