Capitol District
The Capitol District was developed on a former surface parking lot near 10th Street and Capitol Avenue, and is Omaha's destination dining and entertainment district surrounding a modern town square. It connects key downtown anchors including the CHI Health convention center and Charles Schwab Field, making it a natural pre- and post-show hub when those larger rooms have events. For live music within the district itself, Jewell on Capitol is the dedicated venue. Celebrating Omaha's rich musical history and the jazz musicians that once graced Omaha stages, Jewell is a contemporary music venue offering intimate performances served with a fine dining experience. Its programming spans jazz and soul through to indie-folk and more. Located at 1030 Capitol Avenue inside the Omaha Marriott Downtown, the room holds roughly 100 to 150 people, and shows run on Friday and Saturday nights. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a first set at 7:30 p.m. Past performers have included Camille Metoyer Moten, Karrin Allison, and Charlie Ballantine.
