Little Italy
Little Italy is a historic Omaha neighborhood that served as home to Italians of Italian ancestry. Its live-music presence is anchored by the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, which houses a dedicated music venue called LOW END. LOW END is Bemis Center's music venue and part of its Sound Art + Experimental Music Program, with an artist-designed lower-level space featuring custom seating, theatrical lighting, an anamorphic perspective stage, and industrial-grade audio equipment. It presents free live shows by local, national, and international sound artists, composers, and experimental musicians, with performances aimed at building appreciation for nontraditional music and giving artists room to present avant-garde work. Past performers have included Hatis Noit, Kalia Vandever, and Kassa Overall, and upcoming 2026-2027 acts include Pod Blotz, Kara-Lis Coverdale, and Horse Lords. The venue holds up to 220 people. Admission is free, supported by the Mammel Family Foundation. For a neighborhood defined by heritage and Italian restaurants, Bemis/LOW END is a singular draw for experimental and sound-art audiences.
