Midtown

Omaha's Midtown neighborhood anchors two distinct live-music settings, both centered on the Midtown Crossing development at 31st and Farnam. Turner Park at Midtown Crossing is home to Jazz on the Green, a free summer concert tradition that began in 1985 and moved to its current location in 2010. The Thursday-night series draws Latin, reggae, big band, and jazz acts. Midtown Mix, a separate free Friday-night series on the Turner Park Terrace, runs in September and features intimate outdoor performances with Omaha's skyline as a backdrop. Midtown Crossing bills itself as a year-round destination for free outdoor events in Turner Park. Inside the same development, Chateau Vin is a wine and spirit bar dedicated to a relaxed atmosphere that also books live performers. Located at 220 S. 31st Ave., the bar offers over 100 wines alongside live music and happy hours. Weekly Omaha music calendars list early-evening sets there on Tuesdays, making it a lower-key complement to the outdoor programming steps away in Turner Park.
