Charlack is a small city in St. Louis County with a total area of just 0.26 square miles. For such a compact place, it has a genuine live-music anchor: the Charlack Pub on Lackland Road. The venue hosts live music almost every night of the week. Open jam sessions run Tuesday through Thursday, and the pub is known as an iconic STL spot for live music and open jams hosted by owner Judy, who keeps the bar welcoming and safe. If you like Slayer, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and Megadeth, this is the bar, rock is the clear throughline. The intimate setting features small chairs and bar-height tables, and on band nights the place packs inside and out. It is a no-frills neighborhood bar, and that is the point.
