Tower Grove South sits at the heart of South St. Louis, bounded by Arsenal, South Grand, Chippewa, and South Kingshighway. Its live-music options run from a decades-old dive to a newer neighborhood bar, with the park serving as a seasonal backdrop for community events. CBGB, at 3163 S. Grand Blvd., is a cash-only dive where you can find rock, alternative, and punk, the bar puts on shows by punk rock, folk, and grunge bands. Live bands play free, and the bar has kept that going for over 25 years. There's an outdoor patio and games including shuffleboard and darts. The Drawing Board, at 4123 Chippewa St., is a neighborhood bar and restaurant that hosts live music, trivia, and karaoke. Staff cater to local music acts, and trivia runs every Thursday with live music most weekends. Tower Grove Park is the neighborhood's heartbeat, great for an evening stroll or one of the many annual events hosted within it. The South Grand corridor also includes Ritz Park, a small pocket park that has hosted live music and community gatherings.
