A neighborhood in St. Paul

Como sits in the northwestern corner of St. Paul, best known for Como Park Zoo, the Conservatory, and Como Lake. Its live-music identity is almost entirely tied to those park grounds, and nearly all of it is free. Como Lakeside Pavilion hosts concerts outdoors on the promenade in partnership with Dock & Paddle restaurant. Performances run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and are free, held at the open-air band shell on the Promenade Deck. Dock & Paddle, the restaurant operating inside the pavilion, keeps a full calendar of concerts, trivia nights, dance events, and community gatherings, with options for live music on the promenade or indoors along the shores of Lake Como. Across the park, the Groovin' in the Garden concert tradition brings live bands to the grounds in front of the Conservatory on Wednesday evenings. In winter, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory hosts Music Under Glass, a popular concert series that combines live local music with the warm, tropical setting of the Conservatory's Sunken Garden. Music Under Glass takes place on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout January and February. Como sits near the Minnesota State Fair grounds.
