St. Louis Park

A city in the Minneapolis & St. Paul area

St. Louis Park's live-music life is anchored in Wolfe Park, where the Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater serves as the city's main stage. Terraced into the hill on the south side of the park and connecting to the Excelsior & Grand Town Green, the amphitheater seats 200 across eight tiers. The City of St. Louis Park partners with the St. Louis Park Rotary Club each summer to present the Summer Concert Series, with concerts typically held on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at the amphitheater. All performances are free and family-friendly, spanning rock and roll, blues, soul, Latin dance music, reggae, and more. Past acts have included The Castaways, Los Rebeldes, American Bootleg, Sons of Groove, and Salsa del Soul. Two special Saturday evening concerts round out the series each year: a country set from Jeff Dayton and a folk festival with Dan Israel and Friends. On Thursday evenings in summer, the city also hosts Open Mic Nights at the amphitheater, giving local artists a public platform. The annual Parktacular community festival wraps its Saturday with a free "Rock the Park" concert in Wolfe Park as well. Programming here is seasonal and community-focused rather than club-driven.
