Edina

Nolan Mains Plaza anchors Edina's live-music calendar as the home of the 50th & France Summer Concert Series, a free, family-friendly series that runs nine consecutive Friday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The series draws on local talent every Friday night, beginning after the Edina Art Fair and running through Labor Day. Each performance includes an hour from a professional musician, a set from a high school artist, then a closing set by the headliner or another professional act. A few steps away on W. 50th St., through an unassuming entrance on 50th & France lies noma hi-fi, a cocktail bar that opened in January modeled on a high-end listening lounge, built around a quality sound system and vinyl records. Owner Daniel del Prado took a basement suite and crafted a vision centered on Japanese listening lounges. Music plays through McIntosh amplifiers and Klipsch Cornwall speakers. The venue runs weekly DJs, themed music nights, and monthly listening parties, with bookings leaning toward soul, R&B, funk, jazz, and rock.
