Grant Park
Grant Park's live-music footprint is small but distinct, split between two very different rooms. Buteco is a Brazilian bar and coffeehouse that, after opening in 2018, built a reputation as one of Atlanta's more distinctive bar options. It runs live music Tuesday through Saturday, with Fridays and Saturdays reserved for house bands and well-established Latin acts, and Tuesdays for open mic. The room has been a regular spot for live salsa, samba, and new-age jazz, and also draws poetry slams and hip-hop bands to its small back room. On the first Thursday of every month, the genre-fluid collective Biological Misfits host "The Jam," a monthly soul, funk, hip-hop, and acid jazz session that draws a devoted crowd. The venue sits directly on the BeltLine Southside Trail. A few blocks away, Grocery on Home is a former neighborhood grocery store on a quiet residential street that homeowner Matt Arnett converted into one of the city's most intimate music rooms. The tiny, nontraditional space curates performances by independent singer-songwriters, with attendance limited and RSVPs required. Guests pay by donation and bring their own food and drink. Cult songwriters and local artists have played to audiences of fewer than 50 people.
