Brewery District

The Brewery District sits about two miles south of Downtown Columbus, a neighborhood known for its historic brick streets and restored buildings. Nightclubs lined the streets in the 1980s, but when the Arena District developed the dance clubs moved, and the area transitioned into a more laid-back neighborhood. Today its live-music footprint is varied and relatively low-key. Club Diversity is a queer-owned piano bar and cocktail lounge set inside an 1880s Victorian home on South High Street. Known as Columbus's top martini and piano bar, it draws musicians from around the country, with styles ranging from indie contemporary to classic jazz. Thursday nights feature a pianist mixing standards, show tunes, and vintage rock, with Wednesday given over to karaoke. Grange Insurance Audubon Center is a nonprofit located within Scioto Audubon Metro Park on the Scioto River, right on the district's edge. Its outdoor summer concert series sits alongside bird walks, festivals, and workshops. Recent concert series dates have included rock bands, and an August performance by the Worthington Chamber Orchestra. Food trucks and BYO picnics round out the experience on the lawn. Nocterra Brewing Co. - Audubon and Up Front Performance Space are also listed as live-music venues in the area, but insufficient verifiable detail was available to characterize their programming.
