Rivertown

Rivertown sits along the Detroit River on the city's east side, a historic neighborhood originally built as a warehouse district that grew into a nightlife destination by the mid-1990s. Its live-music footprint is modest but varied. Atwater Brewery & Tap House anchors the scene inside a 1919 factory warehouse that has been part of the neighborhood since 1997. The space includes an indoor bar, a stage for live music, and a DJ booth, plus an outdoor patio and rooftop terrace. The menu leans toward German-style lagers alongside boutique ales, and the room has drawn acts ranging from acoustic performers to R&B. CRED Cafe operates as a neighborhood coffee shop by day and a speakeasy by dusk. After hours, a hidden door opens to an entertainment lounge the owners describe as reminiscent of Detroit River coffee shops during Prohibition. The space hosts live music and ticketed parties on weekends, and has also staged open-mic nights.
