Georgetown

Chinkapin Brewing opened in June 2023 on 149 E Main Street in downtown Georgetown and has become the town's main regular live-music stop. A newly renovated brewery, it pairs craft beers with guest taps from other local breweries, wood-fired pizza, and a spirit bar. Live acts play on weekend evenings, with Saturday nights typically featuring a live band in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The booking leans toward local and regional solo artists and bands. A recurring Georgetown Jazz Jam also runs at the brewery, with an open invitation for musicians to sit in alongside a rotating house lineup. Beyond live bands, the venue hosts weekly music bingo (Singo) on Thursday nights and occasional karaoke. Georgetown's broader live-music activity is mostly outdoor and event-driven, including a Downtown Concert Series on Main Street running through summer, making Chinkapin the primary indoor venue for consistent bookings in town.

Empty Streets,

Synth-pop · Goth

Empty Streets is an electric, guitar-focused three-piece band hailing from Georgetown, Kentucky. The foundation of the trio is the father-son duo of Carl M. Tackett (bass, vocals) and Michael W. Tackett (lead vocals, guitar), who have been performing together across Central Kentucky for over 15 years. Joined by veteran drummer and vocalist Rich McKenna—who brings years of experience performing with numerous regional bands—the group delivers a tight, hard-hitting live sound. Centered around Michael’s lead-heavy guitar work and anchored by a locked-in rhythm section, Empty Streets moves seamlessly through a lineup of soulful blues, electric blues-rock, classic rock staples, and a splash of '80s favorites.

We may play a folk song that’s so old no one knows who wrote it and follow it with a song we wrote last week... if the music speaks to us then it’s all fair game.”
