North Lexington

North Lexington's two largest live-music venues operate at very different scales and stages of development. Alltech Arena is a 5,517-seat multi-purpose arena on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park, opened in July 2009. Its concert configuration holds up to 8,833. The arena hosts concerts across a wide range of genres, with past shows including Zach Bryan and Tyler Childers, as well as country and norteño acts. It is also the annual home of the Alltech Celebration of Song, a free holiday concert featuring University of Kentucky Opera Theatre singers and a professional orchestra. The Rail is a forthcoming live music venue within the Commons Entertainment District. Located in The Commons, a 43-acre mixed-use district about a mile from downtown, it is slated to open in early 2027. The Rail will hold 2,200 and is co-owned and exclusively operated by Peachtree Entertainment. It will accommodate over 1,000 seats for theater-style events and is also planned for club nights and private events, with six bars, two outdoor decks, and VIP areas. Peachtree's involvement gives the venue national touring relationships as it enters the Lexington market.
