Northside

Northside is a neighborhood in northern Lexington, Kentucky. Its stretch of North Limestone and surrounding blocks holds several bars and breweries that together make it one of the city's more active live-music corridors. Al's Bar, on North Limestone, is a neighborhood bar and live-music venue with an outdoor beer garden alongside an intimate indoor bar, hosting a wide range of local and touring performers spanning bluegrass to hardcore. It runs live music every week and holds a monthly old-time jam on the third Thursday. The venue holds about 250 people. Blue Stallion Brewing Co. is a brewery and taproom focused on authentic German lagers and British ales, located at the corner of Newtown Pike and Third Street. It runs a Monday open-mic night and a Wednesday night live-music series, keeping the taproom schedule busy mid-week. The Green Lantern, Old North Bar, and West Sixth Brewing round out the neighborhood's options for live music on any given night.
