Chevy Chase sits about two miles from downtown Lexington, with Euclid Avenue anchoring a commercial strip of locally owned bars and restaurants. The neighborhood's live-music options range from a nearly century-old dive to a country bar that opened in 2024. The Chevy Chase Inn opened in 1933, right after Prohibition ended, and has run continuously ever since, making it the city's longest-running bar. It seats around 65 inside and 35 on a back patio, with live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Reviewers describe the music as running toward jazz and blues. 2 Fisted Willie's arrived in September 2024 after a renovation of the University Plaza space on Woodland Avenue, the former home of the Library Lounge, a disco and nightclub popular in the 1970s and 80s. The bar books live music every weekend with a focus on country and Southern rock, and runs specialty nights including karaoke and line dancing. A full stage and sound system occupy the downstairs floor, with an open-air rooftop bar above looking out over the corner of Woodland and Euclid. The Fishtank also appears among Lexington's regularly cited live-music bars.
