Whitehaven
Whitehaven is the location of Graceland, and that Elvis Presley connection shapes the neighborhood's entire live-music identity. Two venues anchor the scene, each with a very different scale and feel. The Graceland Soundstage sits inside the 200,000-square-foot Elvis Presley's Memphis complex and is a 20,000-square-foot, column-free, single-level venue with a flexible capacity of up to 2,500. Both seated and standing configurations let it reflect Elvis's love of all music, and upcoming bookings include R&B and rock shows. A short distance away, Hernando's Hideaway on Old Hernando Road keeps the city's rockabilly spirit humming in an intimate room with a down-to-earth, locals-welcome vibe. The bar closed in 2006 and stayed dark until Dale and Celine Watson bought it and re-opened it in 2019. It frequently features blues, country, and R&B, and was once frequented by Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and BB King. On any given week the calendar swings from country and Americana to blues, rock, and dance nights.
