Downtown Pittsburgh anchors the city's largest live music draws, and 2026 marks a significant expansion of that footprint. PPG Paints Arena hosts more than 150 events per year and is home to the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. The arena pulls major touring acts across genres, with recent and upcoming shows ranging from Meghan Trainor to Andrea Bocelli and Pentatonix. Just steps away, Citizens Live at The Wylie is a 4,500-capacity, 98,500-square-foot music venue built in partnership between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Citizens Financial, and Live Nation. Its design draws inspiration from the Hill District's music era of the 1920s through 1950s, when the neighborhood was known as the "Harlem of Pittsburgh." Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa played the venue's inaugural show on October 2, 2025. Operators hope the venue's size will help draw tours that previously skipped Pittsburgh because acts were either too big or too small for existing stages. Inside, a premium listening room pays homage to Pittsburgh musicians, with a curated record collection featuring artists from the city's past and present.
