North Shore
The North Shore is Pittsburgh's stadium district, with Stage AE delivering live music year-round alongside the larger PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium, which pull major touring acts each summer. Stage AE is Pittsburgh's only indoor/outdoor concert venue, on the North Shore at 400 North Shore Drive. It is divided into three independent concert spaces: a music hall, a club, and an outdoor amphitheater. The outdoor amphitheater holds 5,500, the indoor music hall holds 2,400, and the indoor club holds 300. The indoor season runs year-round, while the outdoor season runs May through September. Stage AE averages over 110 events per year, covering rock, folk, blues, jazz, metal, classical, country, classic rock, and alternative. Both up-and-coming and established performers appear across those genres. The venue also hosts several outdoor festivals through the summer featuring food, music, and art. Outside of Stage AE, the neighborhood's live-music identity is tied closely to its sports calendar, with the area seeing its heaviest foot traffic on game days.
