East Bank
Stockroom East anchors the East Bank's indoor concert calendar, pulling in acts across genres, from tribute bands and album-release shows to singer-songwriters like William Elliott Whitmore. Merrimans' Playhouse, inside the Commerce Center, is known for live jazz. Howard Park Public House, a restaurant focused on simple and seasonal food, also offers live music, with a bar and outdoor patio inside the Howard Park Event Center. The outdoor parks carry a large share of the neighborhood's music programming: the Summer Concert Series runs June through September, with Howard Park hosting shows every other Thursday evening and Seitz Park hosting performances every Sunday afternoon. First Fridays rotate between Seitz and Howard Park, drawing acts ranging from Latin groups to Americana performers. Taken together, the East Bank's mix of a dedicated concert room, a jazz-focused playhouse, a park-side pub, and two active park stages gives the neighborhood a steady live-music calendar from spring through fall.
