Lowry Hill East
Lowry Hill East, known as the Wedge, is a residential neighborhood whose border streets are lined with bars and restaurants. Its live-music footprint centers on a single dedicated venue: Mortimers, a locally owned neighborhood bar and restaurant at 2001 Lyndale Ave S with a capacity of 150, booking live music up to 7 nights a week. The venue programs music ranging from avant-garde black metal and rock to golden era hip-hop. Beyond straight concerts, programming includes brunch karaoke, a monthly Juke, GhettoTech, and Jersey Club residency, and recurring "elder emo hour" rock-band-karaoke nights. Most evening shows are 21+, with a cash cover charge at the door, though some pop-up events are free. For a neighborhood better known for walkability and food than for nightlife, Mortimers carries most of the musical weight on its own.
